Summer Camp 2014

Camp Musconetcong is located at Rock Spring Park on Schooley's Mountain Road and East Springtown Road is Long Valley.  Camp Musconetcong continues to provide for the recreational, social and developmental needs of campers entering Kindergarten through sixth grades.  Campers are treated to a varied program that includes a weekly off-site trip, sports skills, arts and crafts, BBQ's, games, science, nature, music and cooking.  Two afternoons of swimming at the Hackettstown Community Pool and special activities each week round out the fun-packed schedule.

Clover View Extension New for 2014: The MVCA celebrates its 11th year of service in Mount Olive.  For campers residing in Mount Olive and nearby towns, including Sussex County, we offer a convenient before and after camp care program as well as a camp bus stop at Turkey Brook Park in Budd Lake.  At 9:00am, youth campers will be transported to Camp Musconetcong in Long Valley for "big camp" fun as Explorers start out for their day's trip.  At 4:00pm, all campers return to Turkey Brook Park for pick-up or or the after care program.

Explorers Campers travel from our Long Valley and Mount Olive sites each day to area recreational, cultural, athletic and historic trip sites.  Our years of Explorers Camp experience ensures a great summer calendar filled with a wide variety of fun and exciting activities.  Examples of trips include: swimming, bowling, movies, tours, sports, museums, outdoor activities and amusement parks.  Due to the continued popularity of Explorers Camp, ninth graders may again choose to attend this program.

A Counselor in Training program for students entering ninth or tenth grade is offered at Camp Musconetcong and via the Clover View Extension.  A C.I.T. receives training led by the camp director and staff, and assists counselors with their duties.  Each C.I.T. completes a project that he/she designs and presents to the camp.  Participants learn about child development, camp administration, program design, first and and leadership.
